BET Awards 2010 Re-Cap in Eb the Celeb fashion

First of all I have to biggup BET. This year, the 10 year Anniversary was hands down the best BET awards ever. Granted they had a couple glitches that reminded you it’s only BET, but it was definitely one that I will watch over again when they re-air it a million times. Queen Latifah was fab as a host. All her outfits were on point and she looked gorgeous.

Hands down the best performance of the night was Chris Brown’s Michael Jackson tribute. There is no one that can do the King of Pop justice like Breezy and he proved that tonight. Peep the video:

I almost cried when he started “Man in the Mirror.” I wish he would have been able to get through at least 1 verse before he broke down but that kid has been through a lot in the last year and I’m glad he was finally given the chance to have a genuine outlet. I’m hoping after this we will all let him move on and start a new chapter in his life.

Other highlights were El Debarge coming out and doing De Barge’s biggest hits.

My favorite movie of all time was highlighted. LOVE JONES… whew lawd Nia Long and Larenz Tate. Looooooovvveed it!

Tyrese covering Teddy Pendergrass. That boy can saaaang. That

Usher serenaded me. Kept saying “There Eb go, There Eb go” while he was singing “There goes my baby” and I loved every second of it.

Glad Trey Songz finally won something.

Janelle Monae tributing Prince. There isn’t anyone I can think of that could have done that song better.

Closing the show with “All I Do is Win” that is hands down my favorite song to hear in the club right now.

My beefs:

Alicia Keys having a full blown concert. Why the hell was she given all that time? Sing “Unthinkable” and get off the fricken stage. I would have also taken a pass on her in the Prince tribute. I was hoping Erykah Badu would be apart of that tribute somewhere.

Nicki Minaj being on stage that much if she’s going to lip sing every time she’s on stage. If that’s the case why even be there? Just let the track play. And her winning Best Female Hip Hop artist was a crock of ish. She has no album out, no hit record that is HER song, only made billboard on songs that she was featured on. Trina should have taken that one.

The smoke on the Dirty Money tribute, yes Dirty Money because I refuse to call them Diddy-Dirty Money. The smoke was so thick I missed half the performance. It seemed like it took forever for that smoke to clear.

The going to break performances. I was hella mad BET cut off CJ Hilton and J. Cole. Would have been great to see a full performance by them.

That Terrance J and Rosci kiss during the Viewer’s Choice award was beyond lame and corny and I was disgusted.
