New Hotness From Some R&B Men
Usher stay telling everybody all of our business. I wanted to keep it on the low and hey told the whole world “there goes my baby” and now he’s telling everybody how he be stroking my ego. I did not want everyone to know that LOL. On the real his new song Stroke goes hard. Loves it. Crazy this didn’t make the Versus EP.
New Trey Songz record hits the net that isn’t on his new album Passion, Pain, & Pleasure because I’m guessing its not “generic” enough for his core fans, but I do like it. The Ones You Love is a nice ballad about taking the time out of your busy days to really appreciate and spend time with the ones you love. It also features another artist and I have no idea who it is. It sounds a little bit like Mario on certain parts but I’m not positive so don’t quote me. He’s putting in double duty in this post though because he has me needing to find somebody to make Love Faces with. Definitely a joint that is going to make it on my “Make Me Feel Good” playlist. Oooooww!!!
Lloyd have finally stop running his mouth and apologizing on twitter long enough to drop a new single. The first official song from his forthcoming album King of Hearts. Lay It Down is extremely pitchy but there is something about Lloyd’s voice where it just works. Plus I clown so many artists who have been doing this yodeling thing and Lloyd does it on this song but for some reason it didn’t annoy me as much as it does when other artists do it. *shrug.*
Donell Jones is back letting the ladies know that they may be afraid to love but that’s because they never had a Love Like This. As soon as I heard the lyrics “It’s okay if your heart ain’t ready, but girl I can’t leave you alone. I know you be dealing with these clowns that ain’t treating you right. I’m the type of guy that don’t make promises. I wanna be the love of your life, don’t be scared.” Uuuuum yeah I was sold on that part. When the heck am I gonna find one that goes that hard that I am actually interested in. *le sigh*
I’m not a big fan of Bilal. Every once in a while he comes along with a gem but I think the dude is extremely weird and can’t stand when I go see someone live and all they do is scream sing at me all night and that’s all he seems to do. But I am feeling his new joint Restart. Something about it gives me Prince and that’s why I can appeciate it. The track is flawless and he’s not screaming at me the entire song. The track is about getting a do-over in a relationship. We all have been there and can relate.
Newcomer Chris Akinyemi put everything I feel about the music industry into song. I recently had a twitter meltdown about how dumb some music industry professionals are and how they spend more time trying to stunt in NYC club instead of promoting their artists. In Radio, Chris goes in about wanting to keep real music alive, and wondering what happened to the creativity in music. I love this track even though he sounds a little bit like Bruno Mars.
This Ne-Yo song is not one I love, but it is worth a listen. One Life talks about taking time about your busy schedules to just enjoy life. Reflecting on your life and making changes so that when you’re gone your story is written the way you would want it to be written and to live everyday like it’s your last.
I haven’t been a fan of too much RL has done since the demise of his group Next but every once in a while he gives you something that you have to listen to. In this case it’s a track featuring Lil’ Wayne but even if Weezy wasn’t on it, Girl Like Her would still be worth a listen.
Newcomer Theory has a Crush and calls on Red Cafe to get the message across. The production is genius, I was dancing from the time the track hit my speakers. It’s a little nursery rhyme-ish so this won’t be one I keep in rotation but it’s definitely a nice little end of summer jam.
